Tournament History

2008 marked the 38th anniversary of the PGA TOUR golf in Central Florida.  Beginning with a three-peat by Jack Nicklaus in 1971, 1972 and 1973, the event continues to bring the best players in the world to Orlando each year.  Ernie Els, Nick Faldo, Phil Mickelson, Arnold Palmer, Vijay Singh, Sam Snead, Payne Stewart, and Tiger Woods are just some of the great names that have walked the fairways at Disney’s Palm and Magnolia Golf Courses during the history of the event. 

In 2008, Davis Love III hoisted the champion’s trophy and claimed the first prize of $828,000 along with his 20th win on the PGA TOUR.
